Originally from Kutahya, the Balian family was brought to Jerusalem in 1919 by the British Mandate authorities as part of a plan to reinvigorate the Arts and Crafts movement of the Holy City.
Since 1922, the Balian family has been producing Armenian pottery and ceramic tiles in Jerusalem. From the shaping of the clay to its artistic refinement, each step is carefully performed by our team of skilled artisans and artists alike, using traditional hand-making and hand-painting methods passed on from generation to generation.
The collaboration between "Toun Avagyan" and "Balian" has a special mission, to give a new life to old ceramic pieces and make them wearable.
The recycled ceramic jewelry is not only a decoration but also a piece of our enduring culture and identity.
